For the second year in succession, Quentin Smith, Editor of BBC South East Today, has agreed to take two exceptional students from the Centre, one third year undergraduate and one MA student, on placement this summer. These placements will be based in the BBC South East newsroom in Tunbridge Wells.
South East Today is a winner of the Royal Television Society award for best regional news programme. It routinely secures a larger audience than Newsnight.
So, how do you secure one of these valauable opportunities? Eligibility criteria:
3rd year UG applicants who have passed NCTJ Reporting and NCTJ Broadcasting modules at C grade or above, should submit their best TV news package and a covering letter explaining why they would like to work at BBC South East.
MA applicants who are making good progress in their TV work should submit their best TV news piece and a covering letter explaining why they would like to work at BBC South East.
