Neil Arun didn’t want to miss a rare but risky opportunity to embed with an Iraqi police unit, hunting members of al Qaeda. But his employers -- responsible for Neil’s security -- weren’t happy. This film by Richard Pendry nvestigates how a frontline journalist balances risk and reward.
This is the first of a series of masterclass sessions with senior journalists visiting the Centre for Journalism, produced as an interactive Flash presentation. BBC World Affairs correspondent Allan Little talks to staff and students about his career reporting from some of the world's most difficult places.
This is an embeddable file. Click the 'share' button on the presentation's main menu to embed it into your own web site or personal blog. Note: Will work best with the most up-to-date version of the free Quicktime player, available here

Updated/fixed? Why on the top blogs again?
Not really updated, just moved to a new place on the server, which had the side effect of putting back up the blog rankings. The Crick masterclass is new, though.
The content is brilliant, but I'm equally (if not more) impressed by Ian's presentation of it. This is a quite superb deployment of video on the net and a masterclass in its own right on how to use the web to enhance journalism. Allan Little is a brilliant foreign correspondent and an eloquent writer, but I don't think he would object to me saying that he could not package a film for the web as well as this.
