Neil Arun didn’t want to miss a rare but risky opportunity to embed with an Iraqi police unit, hunting members of al Qaeda. But his employers -- responsible for Neil’s security -- weren’t happy. This film by Richard Pendry nvestigates how a frontline journalist balances risk and reward.
More impressive work experience action from our first year journalism students. This time it's Becci Hughes and Laura Hartmann, who have collaborated on an excellent piece of interactive multimedia for the Kent Messenger, reporting on protests to stop the Kent International Gateway development at Bearsted.
The full piece is on the KM web site here, but I've also embedded Becci and Laura's piece below. Laura did the audio; Becci took the pictures and created the Vuvox collage.

Very well done and adds to the CFJ's growing reputation :D.
That first shot on the vu-vox slide is awesome Bec!
And you got a lot of great audio Laura!
It's a fantastic piece of journalism!
Well done guys!
This is really good!
Love how Keith Woollven is wearing a jumper like that!
But that is besides the point, good stuff :D
This is superb. Very well done both.
